First store openings anticipated for late 2018

In July, MEC announced their plans to open a new store in Trinity Hills. TCH – Sarcee Interchange Construction Update

Higher than average rainfall has slowed progress on the interchange work, so construction is now about 30 per cent complete. However, work is ongoing with no major road closures or detours anticipated in the near future. The current temporary traffic detours will be in place until end of this construction season. Tree removal and grass mowing on Trinity lands will protect migratory birds and nests

Calgary is experiencing an extremely mild winter and unseasonably high temperatures are projected to continue. We anticipate that the mild weather will see migratory songbirds returning to nest sooner than in other years. As such, Trinity plans to begin removing trees and shrubs and mowing tall grasses on the developable portion of the Trinity Hills site shortly. Council chooses Medicine Hill as name for Trinity’s neighbourhood

Calgary City Council voted 8-7 in favour of Medicine Hill as the name for Trinity’s proposed neighbourhood on Paskapoo Slopes. The name Medicine Hill was suggested by Blackfoot Elders. Translated to Blackfoot, Medicine Hill is Aiss ka pooma.   Approved street names for the neighbourhood will be in Blackfoot and English.   They are: Na’a – Mother Earth 
Piita – Eagle
 Natooyii – Sacred Saatoohtsi – West

Construction of the TransCanada Highway and Sarcee Traill Interchange is projected to begin in February 2016 and scheduled to be operationally complete by December 2016. Next Steps: Working towards a 2016 Construction start
